And let us use our own stories to inspire the next generation of women to shatter stereotypes, break through barriers, and achieve greatness. Let us celebrate the women who have come before us, those who have paved the way for the successes we see today. I know that each of you has a story to tell, and I encourage you to share it with those around you, especially the young women in your life. My own daughter sees the struggles and successes of the women around her and is inspired to be her own kind of leader. I am keenly aware of the impact that our stories can have on the next generation. Because it's through the telling of our stories that we can pave the way for a brighter, more equitable future for all women. We will continue to strive for diversity and inclusion in our hiring and promotion processes and in our partnerships to ensure that we are doing our part in creating a more equitable field of information security.Īs we reflect on Women's History Month, I encourage each of you to consider the stories of the women who have influenced and inspired you and to think about how you can use your own voice to make a difference in the world. Now, as a female leader at Schellman, I am committed to creating a culture where all voices are heard, where all employees can bring their whole selves to work, and where all stories are celebrated-including those of women. It's stories like hers that inspire me to use my own platform and voice to uplift the stories of others. I know that it’s because of my mother's sacrifices and hard work that her three daughters have been able to get where we are today, and her story is just one example of the countless struggles and sacrifices that women have made throughout history-often with little recognition or acknowledgment. Despite facing numerous challenges, she never gave up and worked tirelessly as a seamstress to provide for our family, which eventually led to their successful breakthrough into the dry-cleaning industry. I still remember the countless hours she spent working, often late into the night, to ensure our family had everything we needed. She had to learn the new trade of sewing-something she’d never considered before-but she picked it up so she could support our family while my dad looked for his own professional career. Growing up, my mother was my role model and inspiration. My own story is deeply rooted in the sacrifices made by my parents, who immigrated from India in the 70s, in search of a better life for their daughters. Despite this, we have to continue to fight to share them, because it’s through sharing our stories that we can break through barriers and shatter stereotypes-in telling our stories, we create the power to inspire change, elevate role models, and pave the way for future generations of women. As we celebrate International Women’s Day and Women's History Month, I want to take a moment to reflect on the current theme of "Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Stories." As a female CEO, this is particularly important to me, not only as a leader within our company but also as a mother and role model for my daughter and others.įor women, our stories have often been overlooked, marginalized, or erased throughout history.
